1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting to Novapex journals are expected to:

  • Originality & Accuracy: Submit only original work that has not been published elsewhere. Data, analyses, and results must be accurate, complete, and verifiable.
  • Acknowledgment of Sources: Properly cite all sources of data, ideas, and prior research to avoid plagiarism and respect intellectual property rights.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Reveal any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the results or interpretation of their research.
  • Ethical Research Conduct: Ensure all research complies with ethical standards, particularly when involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data. Authors must provide evidence of institutional ethical approval and informed consent where applicable.
  • Transparency in Reporting: Clearly report methodology, findings, limitations, and potential biases to allow reproducibility and verification.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

As the guardians of scientific integrity editors are responsible for:

  • Fair & Objective Decision-Making: Evaluating submissions based solely on scholarly merit, relevance, and originality, free from personal, financial, or professional bias.
  • Confidentiality: Maintaining strict confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and reviewer reports.
  • Conflict of Interest Management: Recusing themselves from handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists.
  • Integrity Oversight: Ensuring manuscripts comply with ethical guidelines, conducting plagiarism checks, and addressing any allegations of misconduct or ethical concerns promptly.
  • Correction & Retraction: Coordinating corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern when errors, ethical breaches, or fraudulent data are discovered.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are critical to maintaining the quality and integrity of the peer-review process. Their responsibilities include:

  • Objective & Constructive Evaluation: Assess manuscripts impartially, focusing on the validity, originality, and contribution of the work.
  • Confidentiality: Treat all manuscripts, data, and communications as confidential and not share or use the material for personal benefit.
  • Conflict Disclosure: Declaring any potential conflicts of interest prior to reviewing a manuscript.
  • Reporting Misconduct: Alerting editors to suspected plagiarism, duplicate submissions, or unethical research practices.

4. Plagiarism & Misconduct

Novapex journals adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, duplicate publication, and research misconduct, including data fabrication, falsification, or misrepresentation.

  • All manuscripts undergo plagiarism checks using professional software prior to review.
  • Suspected misconduct will be investigated according to COPE guidelines.
  • Depending on the severity, actions may include rejection, retraction, notification to institutions, or publication of an expression of concern.

5. Informed Consent & Ethical Research Approval

  • For research involving human participants, written informed consent must be obtained, and the study must adhere to relevant ethical standards (e.g., the Declaration of Helsinki).
  • Animal research must comply with institutional and national guidelines for ethical treatment.
  • Authors must provide ethical approval documentation upon request.

6. Corrections, Retractions, & Expressions of Concern

  • Corrections: Minor errors that do not affect the overall conclusions will be corrected promptly and clearly.
  • Retractions: Work found to be seriously flawed, fraudulent, or unethical will be retracted with a clear explanation.
  • Expressions of Concern: Issued if there are ongoing investigations regarding the integrity of published research.

7. Advertising & Conflicts of Interest

  • Editorial decisions are never influenced by advertisements or commercial relationships.
  • Any financial support, sponsorship, or funding that could influence research outcomes must be fully disclosed.
